Our practice


Bantam Lake Animal Hospital was one of the first veterinary practices in the Litchfield Area and has a long tradition of quality animal care. We are a full-service veterinary practice able to provide an extensive range of services for your pet. Thomaston Veterinary Clinic is  a satellite office for wellness checks, vaccinations, and routine preventative care at a convenient location in Thomaston Center. 

Dr. Caitlin Miller Scheibel, DVM

Dr. Scheibel is originally from the Litchfield area and attended Wamogo for her high school education. She attended the University of Connecticut for her undergraduate degree and graduated from The Ohio State University with her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2014.

 She began practicing at Bantam Lake Animal Hospital in 2014. 

She lives with her husband Garrett, daughters Iris, Corrina, Lillian, and Zoe and three dogs "Ripley” and “Duke". In her free time she enjoys, running, yoga, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Brian Sullivan, DVM

Born and raised in Connecticut, he attended the University of Connecticut for his undergraduate degree and the University of Minnestoa where he earned his doctorate of veterinary medicine in 1992.

Dr. Sullivan purchased the Bantam Lake Animal Hospital and Thomaston Veterinary Clinic in 2002.

His current companions are “Benny” the Chihuahua and “Ivy", his forth Bernese Mountain Dog.

In his free time he fishes, participates in shooting sports events, rebuilds muscle cars and pursues a passion for wildlife photography which has taken him to every continent in the world.


Dr. Carrie Young, DVM

Dr. Young grew up in Northeastern Connecticut where she fostered a love of all animals big and small. She attended the University of Connecticut for her undergraduate degree and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Purdue University.

She lives with her husband Mike and her Golden Retrievers Sadie and Olive. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outside, hiking with her dog, running, and skiing.

Adam Armbruster, Office Manager

Growing up on a family farm Adam has always been around animals of many shapes and sizes. He has been coming to Bantam Lake Animal Hospital as a family vet since 2002 and joined us in 2016.
Through the years he’s grown with the practice and is now our current practice manager.
In his free time he can be found with his fiancé Nick and their two dogs Iris and Monte hiking New England trails or rummaging in his hobbies of growing houseplants and raising aquariums full of fish and axolotls.
